Private Bachata Classes in Tenerife
One-to-one lessons with Levente - learn to feel the music, not just the moves.
Private bachata classes give you the fastest, most personal way to grow as a dancer. Every lesson is built entirely around you - your level, your goals and the way you learn best. Whether you have never danced a single step or you are already a confident social dancer, you get focused, one-to-one attention that a group class simply cannot offer.
Classes are taught by Levente, with over 10 years of dance experience teaching students all the way from complete beginners to high-level dancers. What sets these lessons apart is a genuine specialism in musicality: learning how to hear, connect with and interpret the music, so your dancing feels natural and expressive - rather than stringing together moves that land out of place.
Why choose private bachata lessons?
Group classes are wonderful for community and practice, but they move at the pace of the room. In a private class the pace is yours. There is no waiting, no keeping up, and no repeating things you already know. Instead, every minute is spent on exactly what will make the biggest difference to your dancing right now.
- Personalised to your level - from your very first basic step to advanced styling and technique.
- Faster progress - direct feedback and corrections you would never get in a crowded room.
- Flexible focus - leading, following, timing, footwork, body movement, partnerwork or performance.
- A comfortable, judgement-free space to ask questions and try things without pressure.
Musicality: connect with and interpret the music
Most dancers learn moves. Far fewer learn to truly hear the music - and that is the difference between dancing to a song and dancing with it. My approach puts the music first. You will learn how bachata is structured, how to feel the rhythm and the phrases, and how to choose movements that actually match what the music is saying in each moment.
Take the güira - that steady metallic scrape you can hear in almost every bachata song. Once you learn to pick it out and lock into it, keeping time stops being a chore and becomes second nature. This is what makes dancing feel effortless and connected, both with the song and with your partner, and it is the single biggest reason dancers of every level break through a plateau and start to genuinely enjoy every dance.
What you'll learn
- Timing & rhythm - how to stay on time, find the beat with confidence, and never feel lost in a song.
- Music structure - recognising the phrases, breaks and accents so you know what is coming and can dance ahead of it.
- Musicality & interpretation - matching your movement to the feeling and dynamics of the music instead of forcing memorised patterns.
- Connection - clear, comfortable lead-and-follow that makes both partners feel good.
- History & culture of bachata - understanding where the dance comes from so your dancing has real authenticity and depth.
- Confidence on the dance floor - the mindset and tools to walk up, ask for a dance, and actually enjoy it.
From complete beginner to advanced dancer
New to bachata? We start from zero - timing, posture, the basic step and your first simple, musical moves - in a relaxed setting where it is completely fine to make mistakes. Most people are dancing their first song by the end of the very first lesson.
Already dancing? We refine your technique, deepen your musicality, and smooth out the habits holding you back. Improvers and advanced dancers often find that working on how they hear and interpret the music transforms their dancing more than any new move ever could.
Learn to find your confidence - and succeed
Confidence on the dance floor does not come from knowing hundreds of moves. It comes from trusting your timing, understanding the music, and being comfortable in the connection. That is what these classes are designed to give you: the ability to walk into any social, hear a song you have never danced to before, and just dance - and love it.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a partner to take private bachata classes?
No. You are very welcome to come on your own. Private lessons are tailored to you, whether you dance solo, with a regular partner, or want to work on both leading and following.
I am a complete beginner - is a private bachata class right for me?
Absolutely. Private classes are one of the fastest, most comfortable ways to start. We build your foundation from the very first step: basic timing, posture and connection, at a pace that suits you, with no pressure and no keeping up with a group.
I already dance at a high level. Can you still help me?
Yes. Advanced dancers often plateau because they have collected moves but never learned to truly hear and interpret the music. That is exactly my speciality - musicality, timing, dynamics and connection that take your dancing to the next level.
What styles of bachata do you teach?
We focus on social bachata rooted in the music and culture of the Dominican Republic, drawing on traditional (Dominican), modern and sensual styles. The emphasis is always on musicality and connection rather than choreography for its own sake.
Where do the private bachata classes take place?
Private classes are held in Puerto Santiago, Tenerife, and around the Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos area by arrangement. Get in touch and we will find a time and place that works for you.
How much do private bachata lessons cost?
Pricing depends on the number of lessons and dancers. The best thing to do is get in touch with a quick message about your level and goals, and I will send you the options.
